How it works

A stress-free approach

The Process

We know your days are full, juggling classrooms, staff, and the endless to-dos that come with running a school.

That’s why our school photography process for preschools and daycares is designed to be completely stress-free for your team — while still delivering portraits parents actually love.

No cheesy grins. No fake backdrops. Just real expressions, clean and timeless images, and a seamless process from start to finish.

Below, you’ll find a clear overview of what to expect on picture day and beyond.

STEP 1

Let’s Pick a Date and Get You Booked

We’ll start with a quick call or email to walk you through your options:

  • Choose your background: dramatic black or bright white
  • Decide on your class photo style: a traditional group photo, or a composite made from individual portraits.

Once we’ve talked through your preferences and answered any questions, you’ll choose a photo date. Most schools book 6–12 months in advance, though we occasionally have last-minute availability.

Choose your background

Clean, dramatic, and timeless. The black background draws focus to each child’s expression, creating striking, fine-art portraits parents love to display
modern school photo collage on white background
Bright, fresh, and full of personality. The white background creates a light, playful feel with classic school photo charm and a modern twist.

Choose your class photo style

Warm, cozy, and classic. This traditional group photo brings everyone together in one shot. It’s a sweet keepsake for families and a lovely way to capture the spirit of each classroom community.

Clean, polished, and flexible. The composite layout uses individual portraits to create a crisp, more formal look — ideal for schools with varying schedules and ensuring every child is included.
STEP 2

Preparation Made Simple

Whether you want to be hands-on or hands-off, we’ve got a plan that works for you.

Option 1: We communicate directly with parents
With parent consent, you share their email addresses and we take it from there: sending all reminders, handling questions, and walking them through the ordering process. Most of our schools choose this model for its convenience.

Option 2: You keep communication in-house.
We’ll provide ready-to-send emails at key points: before photo day, when galleries go live, and when ordering deadlines approach. It’s a little more work on your end, but still totally doable with our support.

Either way, you’ll never have to chase down paper order forms or field endless parent questions!

STEP 3

It’s Photo Day
(And Yes, It’s Fun!)

We’ll arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start to set up. All we need is a space about 12×12 ft, access to a power outlet, and the ability to turn off overhead lights. A gym, nap room, or even a quiet classroom corner works great.

Each child gets a short, relaxed portrait session—no rushing, no pressure. We laugh, we play, we get the kind of real smiles that make parents’ hearts melt.

And we don’t stop at student portraits. On photo day, we will also take class photos, teacher headshots, as well as sibling photos.

STEP 4

Parents View and Order Online

Within about 2-3 weeks, each parent receives access to a private, password-protected gallery typically featuring 8–12 images of their child. With a range of genuine smiles and natural moments, parents get to choose the portraits that truly reflect who their child is. We promise, there will be no stiff poses or awkward expressions in sight!

Parents have one week to choose from digital downloads, prints, or wall art. Products are priced competitively, with options for every budget.

There’s no cost to the school, no cash collection, and no order forms. Everything is handled online, securely and easily.

STEP 5

Final Delivery and Follow-Up

After the ordering window closes, we handle all fulfillment and delivery. Digital orders are sent immediately to parents via email, and printed items are delivered to the school within 2 weeks.

We’ll do a quick follow-up to check in and chat about how things went. If you’d like, we can even pre-book for the following year while everything’s still fresh!

We handle all the details. From parent communication and preparation to ordering and customer service, everything is managed for you. Schools appreciate being able to offer a boutique Vancouver school photography experience without adding extra work for staff. We work with a limited number of schools each year so every school receives a customized, highly attentive experience.

Parents love photos that feel real. Our school photography style avoids forced “say cheese” smiles and instead captures genuine expressions and personality. Families receive a full gallery of images to choose from — not just one or two stiff poses — and sibling photos are also included whenever possible, something rarely offered by traditional school photographers..

Very little. We simply ask that a staff member is available to bring children to be photographed and help reassure hesitant kids — sometimes that just means holding a hand or offering a familiar smile. Our approach keeps photo day calm, efficient, and minimally disruptive.
